Nib: XF Waterman's 14k gold, Ideal Canada No.
Waterman’s Vintage 1920’s Ideal #52 Red Ripple, Hard Rubber.
Made in Canada. Measures 5 5/16 “Capped. The Waterman’s Ideal No. 52 is one of the Waterman's most popular models, particularly from their early years. They started manufacturing the 52 in 1919, mainly out of BCHR (black chased hard rubber). In 1926, they introduced their red ripple ebonite, which they would continue to use for their pens for many years. The 52 has become a very popular collector's pen both for its enduring quality and fetching design. This example has been conservatively restored and is ready to write.
