1952-1959 Sheaffer’s Pastel Grey body and cap with gold plated trim and a 1/4" cap band. This is one of a couple of less common colors.
In 1952 Sheaffer introduced the Snorkel pen line, which is recognized today as one of the most complex filling mechanisms ever made. The pen was supported with a heavy advertising campaign, proclaiming its clean “dunk free” filling and ease of use
The Snorkel filling system was an introduction by Sheaffer in 1953 and ran until 1957. The system was an upgrade of the pneumatic Touchdown system with the added feature that unscrewing the blind cap extends a slim snorkel from the feed allowing the user to fill the pen without submerging the nib.
