The Parker Duofold Senior "Big Red" is an iconic vintage flat-top fountain pen manufactured starting around 1921.
Model: Parker Duofold Senior (also known as the Oversize or "Big Red")
· Material: Bright red (orange-red) hard rubber (later shifted to Permanite/celluloid) with contrasting deep black hard rubber end pieces (blind cap and cap top)
· Filling System: Button-filler (accessed by unscrewing the black blind cap on the barrel end to press an internal pressure bar)
· Trim: Gold-filled/plated clip and a single or double gold cap band
· Length: Approximately 5.5 inches (139.7 mm) capped

Twist Mechanism: You twist the top cap (crown/tail cap) of the pencil in one direction to push the lead out (propel) and in the opposite direction to draw it back inside (repel). ** this pencil does not repel. push the lead back
Cap Posting: Collectors generally advise against posting the cap securely onto the back of the barrel during writing to prevent putting stress on the rubber and avoiding rim cracks
