Nib: Fine 14k Gold
1940's Parker 51 set: cordovan brown Vac-filler, 1/8 14K gold filled cap with fine parallel lines pattern, plain Arrow clip; with matching twist-action .9 mm pencil with 1/10 16K cap.
Parker had tried a number of new filling systems, ment to replace the Vacumatic filler and in 1946 an uncommon Parker "51" was introduced, the so called Red Band "51". It was in most aspects a re-designed button filler. It was fitted with red threads by the filler and it was also advertised as the Red band "51", as opposed to the Black band "51", which had the ordinary Vacumatic filler.
