Condition: Pre-owned, there are no major imperfections to note: No chips cracks or engravings or any signs of faults or major surface ware. * The cap is darker than the barrel / could be a mismatch
The "J" pen, introduced in 1948, is the classic postwar Esterbrook.
The J series contains three sizes, J, LJ, and SJ. The J is the standard pen, 5 inches long and 1/2 inches in diameter. LJ pens are the same length as the J pen, but more slender at 3/8 inches in diameter. SJ pens keep the slender diameter of the LJ pens, but they are shorter as well at 4 3/4 inches.
The earliest double jewel models simply have the "Esterbrook" imprint, whereas most with the Registered symbol (®). J's have double round black jewels with the name on the clip.
*The Osmiroid nibs that interchange with the Esterbrooks are the ones for the Osmiroid "65" fountain pen from the 1960s and 70s
